The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Embassy’s Consular Section provides both routine and emergency* services to American citizens in Slovakia. See below for working hours and contact information.
New Online Appointment System for American Citizen Services
In order to better serve the American citizen community in Slovakia and reduce wait times, starting August 1, the American Citizen Services Unit will operate by appointment only for all routine services, including passport renewals, extra passport pages, birth registrations, notarial services, and general inquiries. If you have an emergency or last-minute need for service, we will still accept your walk-in application during working hours, and you can reach us by phone or email.
We believe that this will help make your visit to the Embassy more efficient and pleasant. Please make your appointment online before you visit the Consular Section.
ACS Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00 to 11:45 AM and 2:00 to 3:15 PM
(Except U.S. and Slovak official holidays)
Change in Consular Section Public Hours for Summer 2010
Please be informed that from June 01 to August 27, 2010 routine consular services will be provided to the general public as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 8.00 - 11.45 AM and 2.00-3.15 PM
Friday: 8.00 AM - 1.00 PM
(Except U.S. and Slovak official holidays)
From August 30, 2010, normal public hours will resume.
* For emergency services outside of working hours, please contact the Duty Officer at + 421 (0)903 703 666. Alternatively, call the Main Switchboard at +421-2-5443-0861, press “0” to speak to the U.S. Marine on duty, and ask to be connected to the Duty Officer.)
Examples of genuine emergencies include, but are not limited to: robbery, death, serious injury, health crisis, destitution, or incarceration of an American Citizen in Slovakia.
Location: The Consulate is located at Hviezdoslavovo namestie #4, Bratislava, Slovakia. It is adjacent to the main U.S. Embassy building, between the Czech Embassy and the Hotel Carlton.
