Ambassador Greg Schulte visits Slovakia, Discusses Iran

Ambassador Greg Schulte, the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations Office in Vienna, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other international organizations, visited Bratislava on July 9 to consult on the U.S. - EU response to the threat from Iran. In his meetings with President Ivan Gasparovic and high-ranking officials in both the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Schulte discussed the practicalities of bringing Iran to the table to reach an agreement that would resolve Iran’s energy concerns and U.S. and EU security concerns. In discussions with major Slovakian print, television, and online media outlets, Ambassador Schulte explained just how close Iran is to achieving the capability of producing a nuclear weapon.
