Ambassador Obsitnik Launches Major Foreign Policy Address at Matej Bel University

On an official whirlwind trip to Banská Bystrica April 30, Ambassador Vincent Obsitnik addressed members of the Slovak-Atlantic Commission and international relations students at Matej Bel University. The theme of his US foreign policy speech, which he will deliver in Prešov and Bratislava in the coming weeks: the importance of Slovakia's role in maintaining security in regional conflicts, such as Kosovo or the threat of ballistic missile strike, to ensure its continued economic development. He also took student questions on the US-Russia relationship, the US presidential campaigns and NATO. Separate meetings in Banská Bystrica included: Matej Bel University Rector Beata Kosová, Mayor Ivan Saktor, župan Milan Murgaš, Director of State Scientific Library Oľga Lauková with a tour of InfoUSA, and finally a concert and tour of student workshops at the Academy of Arts, hosted by Rector Matus Oľha.
