Ambassador Vallee Visits Camp Devoted To Eliminating Racism
Ambassador Rodolphe M. Vallee visited a soccer camp outside of Gelnica on July
13, run by People Against Racism and supported by the U.S. Embassy. The camp
provides children with daily instruction in both soccer and English, however the
underlying focus of the experience is tolerance. The camp is dedicated to
bringing Roma and Slovak children together to break down the walls of
misunderstanding that separate them. During his visit, Ambassador Vallee played
soccer with the campers, participated in an English language class and shared
stories with them over lunch.
