Ambassador Vallee Visits Holocaust Wagon Memorial at the Start of His 'Osobny Vlak' Visa Tour Of Slovakia

TA3’s well regarded political talk show, Téma dňa, hosted Ambassador Rodolphe M. Vallee on July 24. The theme of the day was Russia’s withdrawal from the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. Ambassador Vallee commented that the suspension of the CFE treaty is not a signal for renewed tensions and reiterated that the U.S. stands ready, along with its European allies, to work with Russia in constructive and creative dialogue to ensure the continued operation and viability of the landmark CFE Treaty. Ambassador Vallee held that Russia’s move was not related to U.S. negotiations to install a missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic then explained that the missile defense installations were undertaken after consultations with our NATO allies and with Russia and provide for mutual defense from an acknowledged threat.
