Films Win Prestigious Awards at Environment Film Festival, Ekotopfilm 2008

Environment Officer Michael Tran accepts a film award at Ekotopfilm 2008 festival. Ekotopfilm 2008, the largest and oldest international environmental film festival -- with 35 years of continuous history -- awarded top prizes to Slovak and foreign contenders on October 24 in Bratislava. The Embassy's Environment, Science and Technology Officer Michael Tran accepted awards on behalf of five American film directors at the gala ceremony at the Primate's Palace Hall of Mirrors. These American award-winning films included: "Eden at the End of the World," directed by Doug Bertran; "Nature: Crash," directed by Allison Argo; and "China from the Inside: Shifting Nature," directed by Jonathan Lewis. The nationwide film festival draws about 40,000 viewers each year.
