American violinist to perform at Ambassador’s Residence

Ambassador Vincent Obsitnik will host a musical concert at his Bratislava residence February 13 which will feature Joanna Frankel, a young American virtuoso violinist and recipient of a Career Grant from the Rachel Elizabeth Barton Foundation, accompanied by Dutch pianist Gerard Boeters. Joanna Frankel is currently on an international tour organized by the International Holland Music Sessions, an organization specializing in career development of exceptionally talented young musicians. With more than 100 public concerts each year, the organization covers all travel expenses of the young musicians who qualify. Ms Frankel is the winner of the prestigious William Schuman Prize for artistic excellence from the Juilliard School and will perform at recitals in the US, Russia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, and the Netherlands. She will perform at the Small Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava on February 12, as part of the “New Masters on Tour” program: young musicians from around the world showcase their talents before foreign audiences and meet other musicians and music teachers.
