American Reference Center
The American Reference Center offers current reference material about the United States and advanced research services about legislative developments, foreign and domestic policy, and social, economic, and political issues.
The center is equipped with powerful electronic resources. Its computers are linked to the Internet and to the commercial on-line databases. In addition, the center subscribes to several specialized CD-ROM databases as well as to ProQuest - general periodicals on disks.
The regularly updated reference collection is non-circulating. The collection consists of about 500 volumes, including encyclopedias, handbooks, yearbooks, directories. It covers fields such as Government and Politics, Economics, Media and American Studies. The center also receives current periodicals in related subject areas.
The American Reference Center staff will assist you with any research need and will conduct on-line searches in the World Wide Web and in the commercial databases, CD ROM databases and reference books.
The Center is accessible by appointment only to organizations and professionals, including journalists, researchers, government offices, members of parliament and their staffs, university faculty and students, libraries and business persons.
