As a former chief executive in the publishing and timber industries, I know the value and the imperative of promoting U.S. trade and commercial interests in an increasingly competitive world. I want to assure you that I and my staff at the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava are committed to bringing U.S. products and services to the Slovak market. The United States is already one of Slovakia’s largest foreign investors with about $4.2 billion invested, particularly in the steel, automotive, and electronics industries.
