Grant Program of U.S. Embassy Bratislava

The Office of Public Affairs co-operates with non-government organizations (NGOs), institutions and individuals throughout the country to support a strong civil society and deepen mutual cooperation between the USA and the Slovak Republic. Through small grants of usually no larger than $10,000, the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava provides partial financial support to non-governmental organization and individuals.

Grants are awarded to support the following goals:

  • Democracy and Human Rights - minority integration and mutual respect, transparency in government, freedom of media, citizen participation
  • Democracy and civil society building outside Slovakia
  • Regional security -transatlantic cooperation
  • Global Issues -environment, energy diversity independence
  • Mutual Understanding – culture, art, higher education, media

The proposals should include the following information:

  1. Contact information
  2. Background information about the applicant
  3. Types and amounts of funding your organization has received for the current project. Please include all previous grants from the U.S. Embassy and/or U.S. government agencies.
  4. Program description
  5. Project Justification
  6. Target group
  7. Proposed dates and venues
  8. Detailed budget written in US Dollars
