The House of Culture (Dom kultúry) in Dúbravka will host American student bands on April 5. The program will start at 15:30 with a program of Bach, Mozart, Rideout and O´Connor performed by the Chamber Orchestra of the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts from Jacksonville, Florida. Douglas Anderson School of the Arts promotes excellence in the arts and academics. Established as an arts school in 1985, the school attracts students in grades nine through twelve with talents in dance, music, theatre, creative writing, film and TV production, and visual arts. The second group, Decatur High School Marching Band from Atlanta, Georgia, will continue the program at 17:00 pm, after an intermission. The Decatur Marching Band won the Tennessee Valley Invitational at Muscle Shoals High School in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in 2006. The Tennessee Valley Invitational is one of the largest and most prestigious marching contests in the region. Entrance to both concerts is free. If the weather allows, the Decatur Marching Band will also perform for the public on Hviezdoslavovo Square in front of the Slovak National Theater on April 8 at 11:00 am.
