U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Theodore Sedgwick and U.S. Ambassador to Poland Lee Feinstein joined with the superintendent of the Rocky Mountain National Park in the United States, Vaughn Baker, in Zakopane, Poland April 20 Sunday to renew a Sister Park agreement with each country's respective Tatra National Park. The date, Earth Day, marked an appropriate occasion for the United States, Slovakia, and Poland to recommit to protecting the environment. Park officials from both Slovakia and Poland also signed the agreement, which fosters increased cooperation, study, and exchange of information between the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Slovak and Polish Tatra National Parks.
