Embassy Promotes Hungarian-Slovak Communication with Big Band Jazz Evening

Deputy Prime Minister Dušan Čaplovič welcomed guests at a jazz evening December 2 aimed at promoting communication between Hungarians and Slovaks. The American Embassy sponsored the concert by Matúš Jakabčic's 15-member CZ-SK Big Band, with Hungarian jazz trumpeter Kornél Fekete-Kovács as special guest, at Studio 12 in Bratislava. Ambassador Rodolphe M. Vallee and the Hungarian Embassy's Deputy Ambassador Lajos Varadi also spoke about the century-long cooperation between ethnic Hungarians and Slovaks. The program was organized by RaRa Musica, which promotes collaboration between Hungarian and Slovak people through their musicians and artists. This is the third concert held under the auspices of Hungarian Foreign Minister Kinga Göncz and Slovak Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš, along with Deputy Prime Minister Dušan Čaplovič and Minister of Culture Marek Maďarič.
