Embassy Supports Transfer of Slovak Corporate Social Responsibility Experience To Ukrainians

September 25, 2008

Ambassador Vincent Obsitnik on September 25 visited Carpathian Foundation Slovakia in Košice to hear in person about its project: "The Way It Works – Carpathian CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Program and Transfer of Best Practices from Slovakia to Ukraine,“ supported by the Embassy. "I am delighted to see that people at the Carpathian Foundation are so enthusiastic about the project. They will transfer best practices in the field of corporate social responsibility from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Romania to Ukraine and develop tools for sharing information about this topic in Ukraine,“ said Ambassador Obsitnik. The project starts in October with a set of activities: a planning process with the project partner in Ukraine, developing methodology and tools for research on understanding CSR, a multi-stakeholder meeting involving representatives of businesses, NGOs, local self-governments, academic institutions, social partners and media and other relevant stakeholders. The Embassy's funds will also be used for translating case studies collected in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Romania into Ukrainian and publicizing the project. "We appreciate the interest of the Embassy in the project and are pleased that the Ambassador pays attention to it,“ said Mrs. Laura Dittel, the Director of Carpathian Foundation Slovakia.
