Responding to a call from the Embassy's Marine Detachment, the American Embassy community contributed more than 80 toys to the Children's Home, Studienka, in Petržalka. Two Marine Security Guards, Sgt. Zachary G. Forkey and Sgt. Jeffrey S. Hall, delivered the box of toys to the orphanage on December 22, just in time for an early Christmas celebration. They were greeted by the orphanage director, Mrs. Edita Malá, and about 20 children, as many of the home's other children had been placed temporarily with familes for the holidays. The toy campaign is an annual project of Marine Security Guards worldwide and represents the Embassy's more personal connection with Slovaks in need.
