Embassy's Vice Consul Trains Slovak Travel Agents on ESTA, Visa Waiver Program

November 4, 2008

As the November 17 start date for Slovaks to begin traveling on the Visa Waiver Program draws closer, Embassy Bratislava has begun an intensive information campaign to explain the details of the Visa Waiver Program and how Slovak travelers can use the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). In a seminar designed to train the trainers, Vice Consul Ann Meceda presented the requirements for Visa Waiver travel and ESTA to 65 Slovak travel agents in Bratislava on November 3. In her presentation, Vice Consul Meceda explained that the three requirements for a person to travel on VWP are: 1) a biometric passport, 2) travel for business or pleasure of less than 90 days and 3) a pre-flight authorization to travel from ESTA.
