Information Officer Discusses Higher Education Initiaive with Fulbright Alumni

On January 11, Information Officer Keith Hughes addressed an audience of 40 Fulbright Alumni, informing them about U.S. Embassy efforts to raise awareness and the possibilities of corporate and university partnerships. Mr. Hughes explained that the program's aim is to increase and enrich exchanges primarily between private corporations and institutions of higher learning. Lessons learned from previous programs, which Mr. Hughes reiterated to the group, were: Relationships between corporations and universities take time; universities should pursue relationships and not wait fro corporations to propose cooperation; communication is key, once a relationship is established; and all aspects of the relationship must be transparent. The talk sparked a lively debate. Members of the audience were clearly interested in how to pursue connections.
