David Mamet Plays Presented to Bratislava in Slovak
On Tuesday January 23, a musical and artistic celebration took place at Studio
12 in the Old Slovak Radio Building to commemorate the unveiling of a collection
of David Mamet plays that had been translated into Slovak. The project was
partially supported by funds from the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava. Contributing
to the musical element of the celebration was Public Affairs Officer, Ed Kemp,
who regaled the gathered fans of Mamet with a short piece by Stravinsky on the
piano. David Mamet is recognized as an important writer in American theater for
his unique use of language and unusual plot twists.
