Expedited Visa Appointments in Emergency or other Urgent Situations

The Embassy in Bratislava maintains a system which allows applicants to view all available appointment slots and select one which is most convenient for them. This system serves to match available resources with customer service, and greatly reduced the amount of time applicants spend in queues or in waiting rooms.

We recognize, however, that emergencies do occur and will try to accommodate requests for early appointments in the following circumstances:

  • Visa applications for travel related to an unforeseen emergency, such as in a medical emergency or to attend a relative’s funeral;
  • Visa applications to replace a valid visa that was lost or stolen shortly before pre-arranged travel;
  • Student visa applications which need to be expedited in order for the student to arrive by the beginning of classes;
  • Business visa applications for travel for urgent and unforeseen business purposes.

Persons seeking an expedited appointment should contact the Nonimmigrant Visa Unit via email at consulbratislava@state.gov or by telephone (+421-2-5443-0861) Tuesday and Thursday from 14:00 to 16:00, except holidays.

Title your email "Urgent Travel Request," explain the full circumstances of your case, and include all pertinent contact information (telephone numbers and email addresses). Should your request for an emergency interview be approved, you will be contacted via email or telephone.
