First Meeting of Ambassador Sedgwick’s Youth Advisory Council

The Euro-Atlantic Center (EAC), in cooperation with the Embassy, hosted the first meeting of Ambassador Sedgwick’s Youth Advisory Council on February 16 in Banská Bystrica. About 35 young people from many regions of Slovakia and Slovak students in the Czech Republic attended the panel discussions. They ranged in age from 18 to 28. The Youth Advisory Council meeting consisted of three panels focusing on: Education in Slovakia, Civic Engagement, and the Role of the United States in Central Europe/Slovakia. Follow-up discussions and events are being planned to continue the efforts of Ambassador Sedgwick to engage with Slovak youth.
