The Fulbright Commission celebrated its 15th anniversary with the opening of an art exhibit by Slovak Fulbrighters in City Gallery Bratislava, Mirbach Palace, on September 24, 2009. About 150 people, including current and former Fulbrighters, attended the celebration. Ms. Nora Hlozekova, director of the Slovak Fulbright Commission, told the group that the purpose of the exchange program is to support mutual understanding between the Slovak Republic and the United States through educational, scientific and cultural exchanges. During the past 15 years 247 Slovaks and 224 Americans have taken part in Fulbright programs. The exhibition titled “In space and time“ is a selection of work by artists who took part in the Fulbright Program in the United States. The catalog of the exhibit includes articles by art critics who also are Fulbright alumni.
