New North American Studies Center Opens in Bratislava

The University of Economics Bratislava and the Euro-Atlantic Center unveiled at the National Theater on Saturday May 3 their joint-organized Center for North American Studies. Speaking at the event Deputy Chief of Mission Lawrence Silverman praised the partners on this important step that will bring the Slovak Republic and North America closer together. He said that the best way to understand America is to visit and wished the center success so that it could provide a kind of “virtual visit” to the US, -- as well as Canada and Mexico to students at the university and to Slovaks more broadly. The embassy has a very strong commitment to enhancing cooperation and exchanges between U.S. and Slovak educational institutions and looks forward to cooperating with the Center for North American Studies.
