U.S. Embassy Announces New Online Visa Application Procedures

The U.S. Embassy in Bratislava now offers a faster and easier way to make a visa appointment. Applicants can fill in the DS-156 visa application online AND make a visa appointment online.

The Embassy web site http://slovkia.usembassy.gov guides applicants through the simple process. (Click on "Consular Info" at the top of the home page, then "Visa Information - How to apply.")

Under the new system, persons who qualify for an American visa, apply online for an appointment, and fill in the online application may be able to complete the entire process and receive their visas within only a few days.

The Embassy urges applicants to apply for a visa now for summer travel and beat the April - July rush. The Embassy also advises applicants not to purchase airline tickets or make any other final travel plans before receiving a visa.
