Call for Proposals: U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program for NGOs

Bratislava, March 4, 2004

The US Embassy announces its final cycle of the Small Grants Program for NGOs. The Embassy's Democracy Commission Small Grants Program has since 1994 provided support to Slovak NGOs building democracy and civil society. The program is administered by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava.

The grants program seeks one-year project proposals for activities focusing on three main areas: integration of Roma, stopping the trafficking in persons, and anti-corruption. An example of such activities could include public awareness campaigns, advocacy and curriculum development in the subject areas. While the Embassy will give consideration to other projects dedicated to strengthening civil society, projects in the focus areas will be considered first.

The proposal deadline for this second project cycle is April 15, 2004. Applicants may request a maximum of $10,000 for individual projects. Second cycle awards will be announced in June 2004.

For application and proposal design instructions please consult our website at http://slovakia.usembassy.gov/pasmain.html. The application should be translated into English before submission.
