"Journeys From Home" American Art Exhibit To Open At Central Slovak Museum In Banska Bystrica

Bratislava, September 30, 2004

On Monday, October 4, 2004 at 4:00 PM the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava Scott Thayer and the Director of the Central Slovak Museum in Banska Bystrica Zuzana Drugova will open the traveling art exhibit "Journeys from Home" featuring four contemporary American women painters.

This traveling exhibit has already been presented in Warsaw, Krakow, Bardejov, Prague and Zagreb. The exhibit will be on view in Banska Bystrica through October 30, 2004 and takes place under the auspices of the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava.

In the exhibit, four artists of various origins celebrate diversity and explore their visions and ideas of "home" using a variety of forms and individual approaches to handling paint.
