US Air Force F-16s to train at the Kuchyna Range

Bratislava, July 21, 2005

US Air Force F-16s from Aviano Air Base, Italy, will train on the Kuchyna range from July 25 to August 5, 2005. This training is a result of an agreement between the United States Air Forces Europe, the Slovak Air Force and the Slovak Ministry of Defense.

This annual training at the Kuchyna range dates back to 1997. It is viewed by the US Air Force and Slovak Air Force as a premier training opportunity as well as a primary example of cooperation among NATO allies.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States and allied nations.
