Ambassador Vallee Welcomes Appointment of Minister Fedor

Bratislava, February 1, 2006

On February 1, U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Rodolphe Vallee issued the following statement:

"We welcome the appointment of State Secretary of Defense Martin Fedor as the new Slovak Minister of Defense. The United States and Slovakia have built an extremely cooperative and mutually beneficial defense relationship over the years, especially now as NATO allies. We have worked closely with Mr. Fedor in the past and look forward to doing so in the future as we cooperate to meet international challenges."
