Roma Children Showcase Talents, Learn about Careers in Embassy Art Space

U.S. Embassy Bratislava welcomed a talented group of 50 Roma children, all of whom inclined towards the arts, on August 30 to showcase their talent, view the current photographic exhibit on Roma life in Slovakia, and discuss the journalistic profession with working reporters from Kosice. The students delighted their Kosice guests from the Roma Press Agency with a preview of their dance show, then discussed with the journalists by digital video conference how to prepare for a chosen profession. Ambassador Rodolphe M. Vallee stopped by to offer words of encouragement to the enthusiastic students, saying they can be anything they wish -- with dedication and education. He was also greeted by the noted Roma musicians, the Sendreiovci, who were part of the day's performance in Bratislava.
