U.S. Citizen Services
The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Embassy’s Consular Section provides both routine and emergency* services to American citizens in Slovakia. See below for working hours and contact information.
Please be informed that from June 09 to August 30, 2014 routine consular services will be provided to the general public based on the appointment as follows:
Monday – Thursday 8.00 - 11.45 AM and 2.00-3.15 PM
Friday 8.00 AM - 1.00 PM
From September 2, 2014, normal public hours will resume.
Embassy is closed on U.S. and Slovak official holidays.
For emergency services outside of working hours only, please contact the Duty Officer.
If you are calling from a phone in Slovakia, dial 0903-703-666. If calling from the U.S. or a U.S. phone, dial 011-421-903-703-666. If calling from other countries or certain Slovak phones, use +421-903-703-666 or 00-421-903-703-666.
(Alternatively, call the Main Switchboard at 02-5443-0861 from phones in Slovakia, +421-2-5443-0861, 00-421-2-5443-0861 or 011-421-2-5443-0861 from elsewhere, press “0” to speak to the U.S. Marine on duty, and ask to be connected to the Duty Officer.)
Examples of genuine emergencies include, but are not limited to: robbery, death, serious injury, health crisis, destitution, or arrest of a U.S. citizen in Slovakia.

Normal business hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM except U.S. and Slovak official holidays. During these hours, please call the Consular Section instead of the duty phone if there is an emergency affecting a U.S. citizen, at: 02-5443-0861 from phones in Slovakia, +421-2-5443-0861, 00-421-2-5443-0861 or 011-421-2-5443-0861 from elsewhere and ask for the American Citizen Services section.
Routine consular services (non-emergency passport, notarial, passport pages, etc.) are provided to the general public by appointment.

Please note that an appointment is required for all routine consular services, and we may not be able to provide routine services to unscheduled visitors.
