The Slovak non-government organization, People in Peril Association (PIPA), has begun a new project to provide community leadership training for women in Georgia, in cooperation with the Women´s Fund of Georgia. The Embassy provided a grant to PIPA for this project which was launched in Tbilisi on May 13, followed by visits to camps for internally displaced people in Cerovany, Shavshvebi and Gardabani. Representatives of PIPA discussed training objectives with the representatives of women‘s organizations taking part in the summer training for community activists. The organisations include: Gender Resource Centre in Gori, IDP Coalition, Women's Fund in Georgia, Business Supporting Centre in Cerovany, IDP Women's Association Consent, Bridge of Friendship in Kartosi and Abkhazian Women's Council in Tbilisi. The representatives were informed about the project objectives, purposes, target groups, methodologies and practical use. PIPA and Women´s Fund agreed the action plan of implementation of the individual activities and signed a Memorandum of Understanding between both organisations, stating the partners‘ roles.
