State Department Energy Expert Bryza recommends greater diversity for Slovakia.

The leading Slovak business newspaper, "Hospodárske noviny," published an extended interview with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Bryza on July 24, with the headline: "Don't be afraid to put more pressure on the Russians." In the interview, which reflects the points he made to Slovak government officials during a July 1 visit to Bratislava, Bryza argues that what Slovakia and other European countries need is greater diversity among their energy sources. He used the opportunity of this exclusive interview to explain the U.S. position on crude oil prices, Russia's Gazprom, and the Nabucco project for transporting natural gas.
