The U.S. Embassy Supported Roma Song Contest in Lučenec

The Public Affairs Section co-sponsored the Roma Song Contest Romano Hangoro (Rómsky Hlások) in Lučenec on August 25. Out of sixteen singers and performers Ms. Lucia Čonková from Liptovská Poruba won the main prize. Organizers of the event – CESPOM (Center of Social Help for Youth) credited the Embassy at the beginning and conclusion of the event, which was attended by about five hundred people. The Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Chris Scharf, also took part in the award ceremony.
