U.S. Commercial Service Connects Slovak and American Companies in Alternative Energy Sector
From September 13-15, Commercial Service Bratislava hosted Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion and Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service, Israel Hernandez, who led four companies on a Renewable Energy and Alternative Fuels Trade Mission to Central Europe. The mission kicked off with a series of market briefings, with opening remarks by Ambassador Rodolphe M. Vallee and Ministry of Economy State Secretary Peter Ziga. The briefings continued with presentations by the Ministry of Economy, the Slovak Energy Agency and Slovenske Electrarne, the largest producer of electricity in the country and the leading procurer of renewable energies. Each of the six U.S. company representatives had one-on-one meetings with 14 potential Slovak business partners, for a total of 56 appointments during their match - making sessions. The participants met with additional Slovak government officials and business executives at a reception hosted by Ambassador Vallee.
