U.S. Embassy Representatives Visit Academy of Education in Žilina

The Director of the Academy of Education in Žilina met with U.S. Embassy representatives, Mr. Keith Eddins, Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Bill Taliaferro, Economics Officer and Mr. Ondrej Socuvka, Economics Specialist at their offices in Žilina on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. They discussed language education for children, students and adults as well as the importance of education. Mr. Socuvka stated that in the period of an economic crises only high quality educational institutions have a chance to continue to provide their services. Chargé d’Affaires Eddins noted his appreciation for the work of the Academy and similar private educational institutions and expressed his assurance that the Žilina region would be able to cope with the negative impacts of the crises, like unemployment, thanks to their educational activities.
