United States Air Force in Europe Band Celebrates 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the USAF with an Evening of Popular Music

At the invitation of the Ambassador of the United States of America, Rodolphe M. Vallee, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic and Slovak Radio, Major Jeffrey B. Warner, Commander and Conductor of The United States Air Forces in Europe Band led his orchestra in an evening of American favorites on October 24 at the Slovak Radio Concert Hall. The 45-member band presented a program for a standing room only crowd that included both instrumental and vocal selections ranging from classic military marches to Broadway hits. The audience that attended this celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the United States Air Force as a separate service demonstrated its appreciation by demanding several encores - including a rollicking rendition of Benny Goodman’s "Sing Sing Sing with a Swing" and the John Philip Sousa march, "The Washington Post March."
